The Stop AIDS Campaign, 2007.
Policy paper produced to influence the development of the UK Government's, Department for International Development (DFID), new HIV and AIDS Strategy.
Key campaign recommendations
In financing the new HIV and AIDS Strategy, DfID should:
1. Demonstrate transparently how the UK will pay its fair share of the Universal Access promise - and remain the world’s second largest AIDS donor - by making a funding commitment of at least £2.5bn over three years.
2. Provide predictable, long term funding through a mix of aid instruments that includes support for specific diseases and communities as well as broad support for health system strengthening.
3. Ensure coherence between the Strategy and country office priorities
