This course uses participatory, practical and experiential learning approaches to enable participants to use their experiences and to understand the various concepts while constructing their own knowledge. The content reflects the regional interests and the new thinking in relation to the MDGs and universal access targets. Course Content: * The gender concept and HIV&AIDS * Gender analysis in the context of HIV&AIDS * Gender and Rights mainstreaming frameworks, approaches and tools. * HIV&AIDS vulnerabilities in relation to Gender and rights. * Rights-based Approaches to HIV and AIDS programming * Targeting the most vulnerable groups * Gender mainstreaming in Reproductive Health and HIV & AIDS programmes * Health systems analysis * Sexual Reproductive Health and rights * Advocacy as tool in gender and rights mainstreaming * Gender policy approaches * Social mobilization approaches
